In the Eyes of Time

March, 2020
I wrote this book during the first two days of Spring Break in my Junior year. A few weeks before that, I was in my World Religions class, and we went on the off topic—but completely mesmerizing—subject of time. We began asking questions like 'what is time?' and 'did we create the concept of time—is it just a social construct or an organization tool?' When I went home that day, I couldn't stop thinking about it, and I began talking to a friend about it and how I loved philosophical discussions like that, and how whenever I thought of the concept of time, I saw time as a person. As a man going on in circles in the park—and I could not stop delving into the details of how I pictured him in my mind. Therefore, it wasn't that surprising to me when the second I got on spring break, I immediately began writing what I pictured, personifying time the way I thought he deserved to be.

In the Eyes of Time tells the story of a personified version of Time who meets a woman named Elizabeth. With her, he discovers that there may be a greater meaning to life than being the keeper of the clock. However, they must each go through their own obstacles, and realize that their paths may be too different to complement.
