Christmas at Home

Published December, 2013 - Written 2011

Context

This was the first official, long book I wrote. Before this, all the books I wrote when I was six-eight were drawings and stapled papers together. I remember writing this book when I was in the third grade. I was nine at the time, and it was December. I was looking forward to celebrating Christmas at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, because I loved the ice skating rink and the humongous Christmas tree there. However, my mother told me that we weren't going to go anymore that year, and I was so upset and bored with nothing to do, so I wanted to write a book about how I felt and ended up going through a journey with the characters, writing how they found the true meaning of Christmas as I found it myself.
